What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a deduction resolution analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Deduction Resolution Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a background in finance, accounting, or business administration. Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle, proficiency in Excel, and knowledge of claims management software are typically required. Effective communication, problem-solving ability, and perseverance are standout soft skills for this role. These skills ensure that deduction issues are accurately identified, investigated, and resolved efficiently, minimizing financial losses for the organization.

What is a deduction resolution analyst?

Deduction Resolution Analysts are professionals responsible for investigating and resolving payment deductions taken by customers from invoices, often in accounts receivable departments. They analyze the validity of deductions, collaborate with internal teams and customers, and ensure that disputes are resolved in a timely manner. Their work helps companies maintain accurate financial records and recover revenue that may otherwise be lost due to unauthorized or incorrect deductions.

Job description

ABOUT GLIMPSE
Glimpse is the leading AI platform for CPG brands. We automate critical back-office workflows like deductions management, revenue recovery, and cash application. Since launching in April 2024, we have grown from zero to over 200 customers and raised $52M from investors including a16z, 8VC, and Y Combinator.
Our AI agents retrieve deduction data, validate charges, automate cash application, and dispute invalid claims. This is work that would typically take a full-time employee years to complete. For a $1B CPG brand, a single Glimpse agent reviewed 17,000 deductions in under 24 hours and identified over $10M in recoverable revenue.
We are building the next-generation suite of services for consumer brands and are looking for exceptional people to help us scale.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Deductions Analyst at Glimpse, you will be the expert behind our AI-powered deductions platform. You will help leading CPG brands recover millions of dollars in lost revenue by investigating retailer deductions, determining whether claims are valid, and driving disputes through to resolution.
You will investigate retailer chargebacks, analyze supporting documentation, identify invalid claims, and recover revenue through retailer dispute processes. Rather than managing deductions for a single manufacturer, you will work across a portfolio of leading CPG brands, partnering with AI to deliver accurate, high-quality outcomes at scale.
Our platform handles the repetitive work of retrieving documentation, organizing deduction data, and surfacing recommendations. This allows you to apply your expertise to evaluate complex claims, make judgment calls, and maximize revenue recovery for our customers. As we continue to scale, you will also help shape the operational processes and best practices that power both our team and our AI.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Act as the critical human in the loop: Investigate and validate retailer chargebacks (promotions, shortages, pricing, etc.) by leveraging AI agents to surface data while you handle edge cases and complex resolutions.
  • Train the AI: Determine claim validity by evaluating supporting documentation (invoices, proof of delivery) and use your final decisions to actively train our AI models on complex deduction scenarios.
  • Shape the Product: Partner directly with our Engineering and Product teams to continuously improve the existing platform and translate your deduction workflows into new automated features.
  • Manage Disputes: Prepare, submit, and manage deduction disputes through retailer portals while actively working to automate tracking, recovery monitoring, and follow-up processes.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Customer Success and Operations to understand customer-specific trade programs, identify recurring root causes, and help customers reduce future revenue leakage.
  • Build the Foundation: Maintain accurate records, document best practices, and help build the operational foundation behind the industry's most automated deductions management platform.

MUST HAVES
  • 2+ years of experience managing retailer deductions, trade deductions, accounts receivable, chargebacks, or deductions resolution within a CPG company.
  • Strong understanding of retailer deduction types, including promotions, shortages, pricing discrepancies, freight, compliance, returns, damaged goods, and other customer claims.
  • Experience researching deductions using supporting documentation and determining whether claims are valid.
  • Experience preparing, submitting, and following deduction disputes through resolution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases while maintaining accuracy, organization, and timely follow-up.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and communicating clearly with internal teams and customers.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.

NICE TO HAVES
  • (Preferred) Experience in or selling into CPG, food & beverage, health, or beauty industries.
  • (Preferred) Familiarity with deductions, trade finance, or retail supply chain workflows.
  • Experience working with retailer portals (e.g. Walmart, Target, Kroger, Costco, Amazon, or similar).
  • Experience working alongside automation or AI-enabled operational tools.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, in-person startup environment

Traits that do well here
  • High ownership: You go beyond advising and drive the work to completion.
  • Systems thinking: You can reason about messy workflows and design scalable solutions rather than one-off fixes.
  • Customer empathy and backbone: You listen deeply, then confidently set boundaries and call out tradeoffs.
  • Curiosity: You enjoy digging into complex retailer claims and figuring out what actually happened.
  • Fast learner: You ramp into new domains and tools quickly.

WHY JOIN GLIMPSE
You will join a company that has found genuine product-market fit and is scaling fast, backed by the infrastructure, capital, and team to match. Your work will directly recover revenue for hundreds of CPG brands while helping define how AI transforms finance and operations across the industry.
This is not a traditional deductions role. You will combine your expertise with cutting-edge AI, helping shape both the workflows our customers rely on today and the intelligent systems they will rely on tomorrow.
  • Competitive salary with meaningful equity
  • In-person team in NYC with high ownership and fast feedback loops
  • Direct impact on a company growing at an exceptional pace
  • A front-row seat to building the operating system for CPG brands

Location:
Prime Midtown location - Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, and the city's best transit connections right at your door. *Moving to a new location in August
