Creating Custom Concrete Projects That Stand Out

Swackhamer Masonry & Concrete is looking for an experienced Concrete Finisher to join our team in Pendleton, IN. With over 40 years of experience, we specialize in decorative and flatwork concrete, including stamped concrete, exposed aggregate concrete, sand matrix concrete, patios, driveways, walkways, pool decks, and custom outdoor living spaces.

As a Concrete Finisher, you will play a hands-on role in pouring, placing, leveling, and finishing concrete for flatwork and decorative projects. This position is ideal for someone with strong finishing skills, attention to detail, and experience working with decorative finishes such as stamped concrete, exposed aggregate, sand matrix, and custom surface treatments.

You will work closely with the crew to complete projects safely, efficiently, and according to Swackhamer's quality standards. The right candidate is dependable, hard-working, and takes pride in producing clean, professional results for high-end residential and commercial clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Pour, place, level, and finish concrete for flatwork and decorative concrete projects.
  • Perform decorative concrete finishes, including stamped, exposed aggregate, sand matrix, and smooth finishes.
  • Use hand tools and finishing tools such as trowels, floats, edgers, brooms, and related equipment.
  • Prepare, shape, and finish concrete surfaces according to project specifications.
  • Help maintain organized, clean, and safe job sites.
  • Read and follow project plans, layouts, and instructions from supervisors.
  • Work with crew members to complete projects on schedule and to quality standards.
  • Communicate job progress, material needs, and project concerns with the team.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and job site protocols.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Concrete Finisher required.
  • Decorative concrete experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with stamped concrete, exposed aggregate, sand matrix, or custom finishes is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of concrete placement, finishing techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow project plans, measurements, and specifications.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to quality workmanship.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to perform physical work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.
