What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is seeking a Policy Analyst - Senior Associate to support a federal public health client in advancing policy, governance, and strategic initiatives that support mission delivery and organizational priorities. This role will provide analytical, operational, and programmatic support to a policy office, helping coordinate responses to high-priority information requests, conduct policy analysis, support executive communications, and facilitate engagement across internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment requiring strong analytical skills, exceptional written communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple competing priorities while delivering high-quality products under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities include:
  • Analyzing public health, regulatory, legislative, and policy issues to assess implications for programs, operations, and leadership decision-making.
  • Supporting the coordination, review, and tracking of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, information requests, and other high-visibility inquiries.
  • Conducting research and preparing briefing materials, issue papers, policy memoranda, talking points, executive summaries, and correspondence for senior leadership.
  • Tracking emerging policy developments and identifying potential impacts on organizational priorities and operations.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders across federal agencies, programs, and offices to gather information and support timely responses to requests.
  • Supporting congressional, departmental, executive branch, and other external stakeholder inquiries through research, analysis, and documentation development.
  • Developing reports, presentations, and decision-support materials for leadership meetings and strategic discussions.
  • Maintaining records, trackers, and reporting mechanisms to support policy office operations and workload management.
  • Contributing to process improvement initiatives that enhance the efficiency, quality, and consistency of policy support activities.

What You Will Need:
  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "NACI"
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • THREE (3) or more years of professional experience supporting public policy, public health, government operations, program management, legislative affairs, regulatory affairs, strategic planning, or related functions.

What Would Be Nice To Have:
  • Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Political Science, International Affairs, Law, or a related field.
  • Experience conducting research, policy analysis, and synthesizing information from multiple sources into concise written products.
  • Experience drafting executive-level communications, briefing materials, reports, memoranda, or correspondence.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience supporting a federal agency, federally funded program, or government client.
  • Familiarity with FOIA processes, records management requirements, and document review procedures.
  • Experience supporting policy development, legislative affairs, executive correspondence, or clearance processes.
  • Experience coordinating responses to congressional, departmental, or executive branch inquiries.
  • Knowledge of public health programs, health policy, or healthcare systems.
  • Experience supporting senior executives or leadership offices.
  • Previous CDC, HHS, or other federal public health agency experience.
  • Experience working in a consulting environment.

The annual salary range for this position is $89,000.00-$148,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
