Job description

This will be a hybrid position located at our headquarters location in Tigard.

Primary duties:

This position provides support to the manager to assist in continuity and performance of department operations and maximize staff productivity and success. The Assistant Manager serves as a subject matter expert for on-the-job training, operational, technical, service and business process monitoring and support. Reviews department work product for completeness, accuracy and compliance with program guidelines, Federal and State laws and regulations, Credit Union policies and procedures. This individual also has direct duties that include completing a variety of complex delinquency/default functions for loans, bankruptcy, small claims suits, and repossessions, CPI resolution, credit bureau reporting dispute resolution, hardship modifications, and write-off monitoring to ensure payments, recovery, problem resolution, compliance, and protection of the credit unionโ€™s interests.

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business or a related field; or equivalent in work experience.
  • Minimum of two years of senior-level experience in collections including current knowledge of debt collection practices consumer loans, equity loans, first mortgage loans, and credit cards and specialty knowledge in bankruptcy, repossession, judgments, and hardship modifications.
  • Requires prior experience in successfully delivering on-the-job training and assisting others in developing job-related skills.
  • Lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is useful.
