Job description

Aon is hiring for a Collection Specialist.

This is a hybrid position, located in Fort Wayne, IN- initial training period is roughly 6 months, and will be in office.

What the day will look like:

  • Analyze and coordinate collection portfolio to meet collection and cancellation guidelines. 
  • Provide expertise by reviewing, researching, and resolving accounts to bring final resolution
  • Analyze Business Units needs as well as coordinate and communicate respectively
  • Continually seek to improve relationships with Business Units customers and to improve processes
  • Recurrent reviews of portfolio performance with management and correspond with corporate accounting as necessary on bad-debt reserves. 
  • Anticipates workflow issues and volume increases/decreases and keeps management advised. 

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

  • 3-5 years of commercial collections experience
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Takes initiative for additional responsibilities and assists with new hire training
  • Shares job knowledge and takes initiative to seek additional training
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and to contribute to an enthusiastic, positive work environment
  • Excellent negotiation skills - negotiate and administer exceptions for special payment plans for accounts in default.
  • Strong decision-making skills and initiative to work independently
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with the Microsoft office suites products (Word, Excel)

Education:

  • High school Diploma/ GED required, Associate degree preferred

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $45,000 to $60,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
