About West Madison Foods:

West Madison Foods was formed in July 2023 following the Private Equity Firm, Brynwood Partnersโ€™, purchase of the Ventura Foodโ€™s Dips and Dressing Portfolio. These brands include Marieโ€™s Refrigerated Salad Dressings and Dips and Deanโ€™s Dairy Dips. West Madison Foods is a private equity โ€œstart-upโ€ business with iconic brands, a strong retail presence, and outstanding manufacturing capabilities.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for efficiently producing finished products and maintaining the highest possible food safety quality standards. Setup, operation, monitoring and cleaning equipment to ensure the most efficient production and highest level of product quality at all times and minimize waste. Make minor adjustments to equipment as needed. Operate all line equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with set up of machinery to prepare for production and final stages of production preparation, including setting line speeds and function to correct specifications. Complete all daily paperwork required by position.
  • Start up, operating, shut down and making minor machine adjustments to all filler and related equipment including, line changeovers, coding equipment, conveyor controls, conveyor casing, box formers and sealing equipment.
  • Start up, operating, shutdown and making minor machine adjustments of sleever, shrink tunnel, capper, spot packer, over wrapper, palletize and related equipment.
  • Monitoring fill level, weights and codes of product meet specifications. Monitor and accurately record production line quality checks as required.
  • Visually monitor product and pack to maintain its quality and integrity. Must be able to work all stations and make minor adjustments to equipment as needed.
  • Properly log down time in SIS. Ensure that information is accurate and 100% completed daily. Ensure that idle time is production by assisting down areas and keeping area clean.
  • Notify Maintenance Mechanics or supervision of any defective mechanical and/ or material and or unsafe working conditions. Fill out maintenance or safety work orders regarding needed repairs or unsafe conditions.
  • Clean equipment in a set environment with sanitation chemicals. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations. Report any food safety issues to supervision immediately.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, shifts and overtime through the completion of scheduled production runs as needed.
  • Train other employees on production
  • Perform other duties as directed.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures. Comply with all GMPs, food safety and quality procedures to ensure that food safety and quality objectives are met. Comply with all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Report all safety, food safety and quality problems to management. Work cooperatively with team and peers.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, understand, write, and read in English.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to communicate accurately and clearly both orally and in writing using electronic media telephone and direct contact with internal and external personnel

Preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience as a production line worker in a food manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of GMP and chemical handling.
