BMW of Farmington HIlls has an immediate opportunity for an experienced automotive technician to join our team as a BMW Mobile Service Technician.
In this role, you will bring the BMW service experience directly to customers by performing eligible maintenance and repair services at homes, workplaces, and other approved locations. This position is ideal for a skilled, dependable technician who works well independently, communicates professionally with customers, and takes pride in fixing vehicles correctly the first time.

As a BMW Mobile Service Technician, you will diagnose, maintain, and repair customer vehicles using a fully equipped mobile service vehicle. You will represent DEALER NAME while working in the field and will be responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and professional service that meets BMW Center and Factory standards.
When mobile appointments are not scheduled, you may assist the dealership's service department as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Receive and complete repair orders as dispatched by the Mobile Service Coordinator or Service Department.
  • Travel safely to customer homes, workplaces, and other approved service locations.
  • Perform eligible mobile maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, recalls, and repairs within the scope of the mobile service program.
  • Diagnose vehicle concerns using experience, testing procedures, and BMW-approved diagnostic equipment.
  • Provide accurate labor, time, and parts information for recommended services and repairs.
  • Determine whether work can be completed safely in the field or whether the vehicle should be referred to the dealership.
  • Perform high-quality repairs in accordance with BMW Center and Factory standards.
  • Conduct quality-control checks to confirm that all work has been completed correctly.
  • Explain completed services and recommended next steps to customers clearly and professionally.
  • Protect customer vehicles and property while performing mobile services.
  • Complete repair orders, inspection results, time records, warranty documentation, and other required paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain the mobile service vehicle in a clean, organized, safe, and professional condition.
  • Monitor and account for assigned tools, equipment, parts, fluids, and mobile inventory.
  • Communicate efficiently with Service Advisors, Parts Department employees, dispatchers, and other dealership personnel.
  • Follow all dealership, manufacturer, traffic, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Participate in BMW technical training and other required educational programs.
  • Assist in the dealership service department when mobile service demand allows.
  • Demonstrate DEALER NAME's values in every customer and employee interaction.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of hands-on automotive repair experience in a professional environment, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, diagnostic, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing schedules and field conditions.
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills.
  • Ability to use diagnostic equipment, service information systems, and mobile technology.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to perform all duties safely and follow established procedures.
  • Must be able to pass applicable pre-employment screening, including a background check and motor vehicle record check.
