General Manager — Hutch Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram

Hutch Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is looking for a General Manager to lead the store's next chapter. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can build accountability and consistency into day-to-day operations, coach a management team toward higher performance, and earn the trust of a team that is ready for strong, steady leadership. Performance in this role directly impacts store profitability, customer experience, and the long-term stability of the CDJR rooftop within Hutch Auto Group.

Role Title: General Manager — Hutch Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram

Reports To: Bob Hutchison, Owner — Hutch Auto Group

Direct Reports: Sales Manager, Service Manager, F&I Manager, and Department Staff

Employment Type: Full-Time, In-Person

Location: Paintsville, Kentucky

Compensation: Base salary of $120,000+, commensurate with experience, plus performance bonuses.

Benefits: Health insurance, demo vehicle program, performance bonus plan. 401(k) available for employee contributions.

Purpose Statement

Lead Hutch CDJR to consistent, sustainable performance across sales, service, and F&I, while building a management team and operating rhythm that the store can rely on long-term. Own the store's accountability standards, process discipline, and employee experience, and serve as the primary driver of its financial and cultural turnaround.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own monthly and annual sales and gross performance targets for the store
  • Build a structured coaching cadence with each direct report, including regular one-on-one performance conversations
  • Establish clear financial controls, documentation standards, and accountability for following established processes
  • Lead the store's day-to-day operations across sales, service, and F&I, ensuring consistent execution across departments
  • Communicate changes to the team clearly, with rationale and follow-through, and create an environment where employees feel comfortable raising concerns
  • Partner with ownership on staffing, compensation structure, and capital requests
  • Maintain CSI scores at or above brand benchmark
  • Coordinate with the other Hutch Auto Group rooftops on shared processes and cross-store initiatives
Decision Rights

Full authority over daily operating decisions, pricing within guidelines, staffing within approved budget, and process standards. Consults with ownership on compensation changes, capital expenditures, and major vendor decisions. Escalates governance concerns, financial control issues, and cross-store personnel matters to ownership.

Required Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of dealership management experience (required)
  • Proven track record of profitability at a franchised auto dealership (required)
  • Proven track record of volume growth (required)
  • Strong financial and operational literacy
  • Demonstrated ability to build and coach a management team
  • Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/RAM brand experience preferred, not required
