Assistant Service Manager Responsibilities:
In conjunction with the Service Management philosophy, provides direction to personnel.
Assist with troubleshooting and diagnostic complaints.
Responsible for assisting in the resolution of service problems and reporting resolution to Service Manager.
In conjunction with the Service Manager, responsible for delegating assignments and overseeing the operation of the service department according to business needs.
Assist in the management of the Service Department, not to exclude training, recruiting, interviewing, and possible terminations. Schedule jobs to be performed and communicate schedule to Service Manager.
Assist in the preparation of quotes and/or estimates on repair jobs. Communicate complicated projects to Service Manager and/or Assistant Service Manager.
Responsible for making frequent calls on customers as directed by the Service Manager.
Provide direction and schedules for technicians to attend training classes and follows-up on their progress. Communicate all schedules to the Service Manager.
Perform functions of Service Manager in their absence as directed.
Support UTI program through recruitment, training, and guidance.
Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned.
 
Service Advisor Requirements:
Education
A high school diploma or GED is required.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years experience in heavy-duty truck/engine repair and installation. Three years experience in management is required.
Licenses or Certificates
A valid driver’s license is required.
