Rueter's is growing-and we're looking for a driven, results-oriented Service Manager to lead our Carroll, Iowa location. This is a key leadership role responsible for service department performance, team development, and customer satisfaction, with a strong focus on operational excellence and financial results.

What You'll Do
As Service Manager, you will oversee all aspects of service operations, ensuring the department meets or exceeds performance, financial, and customer satisfaction goals.
Operational & Financial Leadership
  • Manage service department performance, including revenue, profitability, and efficiency metrics
  • Understand and drive key financial outcomes such as labor margins, billable hours, and cost control
  • Develop and maintain consistent workflow through effective scheduling of technicians and jobs
  • Monitor and improve shop productivity, turnaround time, and work quality
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of service technicians
  • Set clear expectations and performance goals, and hold team members accountable
  • Foster a positive, safety-first, and team-oriented culture
  • Ensure technicians maintain required certifications and training standards
Customer Experience
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for service-related customer needs
  • Provide accurate repair estimates and ensure timely communication throughout the service process
  • Resolve customer concerns with professionalism and urgency
  • Build strong, long-term relationships that reinforce the Rueter's brand
Process, Documentation & Compliance
  • Review and approve work orders for accuracy, completeness, and timely billing
  • Ensure all service documentation is maintained accurately and consistently
  • Establish and improve processes to drive efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards
Equipment, Safety & Facilities
  • Oversee shop tools, equipment, and annual inventory processes
  • Manage consumable expenses and department costs
  • Ensure all operations meet safety regulations and company standards
What You Bring
  • Proven leadership experience in a service, mechanical, or heavy equipment environment
  • Strong understanding of agricultural and/or construction equipment systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic)
  • Ability to manage financial performance, KPIs, and operational workflows
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Valid driver's license
Work Environment
  • Combination of office and shop settings, with occasional outdoor/field work
  • Hands-on leadership presence in a fast-paced environment
