Job description

DCI, Inc., located in South Royalton, VT, is seeking a dedicated Sawmill Laborer to join our team. This role is integral to our operations and requires a hardworking individual who can handle physical work and make sound decisions. We offer comprehensive training and opportunities for skill development, with pay rates increasing as you advance. Candidates with prior sawmill or milling experience may negotiate for higher initial rates. Responsibilities
  • Setting up the work area by installing and adjusting saw blades
  • Emptying saw dust from collection points as necessary
  • Feeding lumber into saw machinery
  • Squaring up logs and preparing them to create boards
  • Reading logs to make proper cutting decisions
  • Processing lumber into wood components
Qualifications
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, lifting, and moving for 8 hours per day
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions
  • Prior sawmill or milling experience is advantageous but not mandatory
Compensation

Compensation is commensurate with experience and skill level, with opportunities for pay increases as you develop more advanced skills. Candidates with prior sawmill or milling experience may negotiate for higher initial rates.
