A DCAA Auditor is a financial professional responsible for auditing government contracts to ensure compliance with federal regulations and cost accounting standards. They work for the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and review contractors' financial records, cost proposals, and accounting systems. They conduct audits, provide recommendations, and support contracting officers in making informed decisions.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a DCAA auditor?

To thrive as a DCAA Auditor, you need a solid background in accounting or finance, a keen understanding of government contracting regulations, and often a bachelor's degree in a related field. Familiarity with auditing software, cost accounting systems, and sometimes a CPA or CFE certification are commonly expected.
