Job description

Oversees internal and external logistics, warehouse management, material staging, and inventory tracking operations at TP Mechanical's Columbus facility. This role acts as the hub supervisor connecting multi-shift internal operations with cross-shift communication. Responsible for accurately preparing and delivering commercial materials to the fabrication shop production lines and to internal shipping lanes. The DC 3 Shift Supervisor ensures that workflows run safely, inventory & storage levels remain optimized, and material delivery schedules match exact field construction milestones.
Duties & Responsibilities Inbound Operations: Manage, validate, and sign off on heavy industrial vendor deliveries; jobsite returns and assist with outbound rapid freight truck loading processes.
  • Inventory & Data Control: Processing returns, oversees exact physical cycle counts of bulk pipe fittings, sheet metal, valves, and construction parts while updating the internal inventory system.
  • Fabrication Integration: Collaborate with 1 shift to stage, kit, and continuously supply raw materials to production floor lines.
  • Outbound Fulfillment: Audit and process order pulling for outbound shipments to commercial job sites, ensuring that all structural parts are correct and damage-free.
  • Freight Logistics: Supervises or assists in loading or unloading Fleet Vehicles and supervise the rigging for flatbed transport trucks.
  • Warehouse Compliance: Enforce rigid facility layout organization, optimize floor/pallet-rack allocation spaces, and run daily tool-box safety talks.
  • Communication: Follows all processes and completes cross-shift communications through electronic means and morning hand-off meetings.
  • Safety: Safety First, Always First.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:
  • Minimum 2+ years of supervisory roles in warehouse logistics, inventory management, and Shipping & Receiving. Additional experience in an industrial fabrication or commercial construction related environment is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of broad Warehouse Operations experience managing multiple personnel, heavy inventory (piping, bulk steel, valves, mechanical goods), with examples of internal improvements and initiatives.
  • Certified or proficiency in operating industrial powered material handlers, like sit-down and stand-up propane forklifts. Combi experience is a plus.

Qualifications Preferred:
  • Specific familiarity with shipping, receiving, and staging protocols matching construction systems or skid assemblies. Other similar skills will be considered.
  • Strong technical computer skills including Microsoft Office, Blue Beam, and warehousing/inventory (WMS, ERP) software platforms.

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Supply Chain, Warehouse Management, or Logistics certifications are a plus.

Job Skills:
  • Inventory Control: Mastery of structural material tracking and updating dynamic Bill of Materials (BOM) spreadsheets.
  • Logistics Coordination: Collaborates and assists in asset transport, hot-shot routing, and staging fabrication components.
  • Heavy Equipment Operation: Safe operation management of rigging equipment, freight trailers, stand-up forklifts and sit-down propane forklifts.
  • Material Kitting Systems: Organizing sub-assemblies, pipes, structural steel, and commercial HVAC/plumbing kits paired to engineering drawings.

Physical Requirements:
  • Work may be performed in both shop and field environments.
