Winsupply is a group of over 680 locally-owned companies that operate across a variety of industries, including HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and more. The purpose of Winsupply Sourcing Services and its Distribution Center (DC) network is to be a preferred vendor and partner of Local Companies. This is achieved through premier supply chain services at its seven DCs to provide Winsupply entrepreneurs and their customers the inventory they need, when they need it, from over 200 vendor suppliers.

Job Description

The Distribution Center Department Supervisor is a frontline leadership role responsible for the direct oversight of a specific department. This role focuses on translating high-level operational goals into strategic team actions, ensuring that safety, productivity, and quality standards are achieved daily. The department supervisor acts as the primary mentor and coach for their individual department; driving team development, continuous improvement, and maintaining a positive culture of fairness, accountability, and operational excellence.

Key Job Responsibilities


Team Development & Training

  • Management and oversight of all new employee training.
  • Ongoing mentorship of department team members to establish and maintain a high-performing and versatile team.
  • Execute cross-training initiatives to ensure team members can assist other departments when needed.
  • Provide real-time feedback and execute fair and consistent accountability measures, including, but not limited to, performance improvement plans.
  • Enforce OSHA compliance and facility safety procedures, ensuring every team member operates in a safe environment. 
  • Serve as a mentor to all junior leadership team members.
  • Mastery in incident/accident reporting.

Operational Excellence & KPI Adherence

  • Establish and communicate clear daily performance goals for the team based on volume and service capacity.
  • Monitor and drive departmental performance; including, but not limited to:
  • Fulfillment accuracy 
  • Dock-to-stock expectations
  • Order cycle time
  • Labor efficiency
  • Implement quality control audits to minimize damages and errors, maintaining inventory integrity.
  • Identify bottlenecks in the current workflow and provide operational solutions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Communication & Coordination

  • Work closely with all Department Supervisors to balance labor and resources across the building.
  • Maintain responsive and professional communication with all internal and external partners to ensure high levels of service.
  • Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of the Warehouse Management System
  • Ensure all team members are certified and proficient in Material Handling Equipment (MHE) operation

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Distribution, Logistics, Business Management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of warehouse supervisor or mid-level leader experience. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of WMS/TMS systems; proficiency in data analytics.
  • MHE certification required.
  • Ability to travel.
