Job Details SERVICING PERSONNEL OFFICE/UNIT: Office of Human Resources POSITION SERIES: DS-510 POSITION GRADE: DS-13 IF "OPEN UNTIL FILLED," FIRST SCREENING DATE: May 22, 2026 TOUR OF DUTY: To Be Determined AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Unlimited PROMOTION POTENTIAL: None NO. OF VACANCIES: One (1) or more AGENCY: Government Operations Cluster DURATION OF APPOINTMENT: Permanent COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT: This position is not in a collective bargaining unit. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Government Operations Cluster (GOC), Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO).

The incumbent is responsible for various accounting functions associated with the day-to-day fiscal operations, serving as an expert advisor in planning, developing, and implementing new and existing accounting programs, systems, and processes. The incumbent also assists the accounting supervisor with guiding lower-level accountants to examine, analyze, and interpret financial records and reports. Duties include, but are not limited to: ensuring accurate recordation of agency Fixed/Capital assets in the system; creating financial reports; recommending management action when analysis indicates a trend that could lead to an underpayment or overpayment; developing internal controls; and resolving complex audit adjustment issues presented by the independent auditors and Office of Inspector General.

Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Five (5) years of progressive experience performing the related duties and responsibilities such as evaluating accounting operations, processes and systems; reviewing complex financial transactions and preparing reports; and possessing expert knowledge of accounting and auditing laws, regulations and policies in order to resolve issues, ensure compliance, and provide recommendations. In addition - Applicant must have a bachelor's degree earned at an accredited US institution in accounting or related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.

This can include up to six (6) hours of business law. Applicants must submit an official transcript that verifies a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and 24 semester credit hours in accounting in order to be considered. If applicable, your application package must include a foreign credential course by course evaluation of all foreign transcripts.

Acceptable foreign credential equivalency reports must be provided by organizations that have current membership with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE). Specialized Experience Experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for this position.
