Job Description:

  • Provide systems administration support for multiple Solaris servers running Solaris 10.
  • Install and configure new software and hardware products.
  • Perform system tuning and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  • Support the development and testing teams as necessary, evaluate and recommend new products that meet their needs.
  • Manage the SAN environment to ensure availability and performance.
  • Design and implement creative solutions that improve system processes through automation and documentation.
  • May act as a manager or lead, responsible for planning and monitoring schedule milestone and deliverables.
  • Must possess effective oral and written skills and strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.
  • Must be a team player able to work in a dynamic environment and have a working knowledge of the SDLC and the associated processes and documentation.

Specific Experience:

  • Must possess 10 years Solaris 10 and 5 years SAN Fibre Channel Administration experience.
  • Prefer experience implementing solutions in IBM WAS, Oracle, and Red Hat environment and hands-on experience working with Brocade switches and NetBackup, writing Shell scripts, and managing security requirements in a Solaris environment.
  • General Experience: 14 or more years related experience
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in related field or equivalent years of experience
