DBT THERAPIST – FAMILY SPECIALIST


Our Company:


DBT Center of Silicon Valley, is an outpatient mental health clinic providing therapy services to adolescents, adults and families in their Linehan Board Certified DBT Programs. We work as a friendly, collegial team to support clients struggling with serious mental health challenges. Our primary office is in San Jose, California, and we also provide telehealth sessions to clients living throughout the golden state.


The Position:

We are looking for a part time therapist and DBT skills trainer to provide comprehensive DBT treatment to adolescents, families and adults. This therapist will be asked to see approximately 5-15 individual DBT clients and co-lead up to three DBT skills groups per week. The therapist will also provide skills coaching to clients, attend weekly consultation team, and complete relevant client notes and billing tasks.  As a family specialist, this clinician will offer couples and family sessions, utilizing DBT structure and strategies.  


The therapist schedule is flexible while working at least two evenings, after 5pm, or weekend days each week.  


Our Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for therapists who bring a passion for working with clients with complex clinical presentations. Our ideal candidate has official training and experience in providing comprehensive DBT and therapy to couples and families. We are seeking a therapist that enjoys working in the San Jose community and is looking to make this position a long-term career choice.

The candidate must hold a valid license to practice in the state of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, or Professional Clinical Counselor. Experience and training in CBT or ACT may also be deemed relevant for this position. We strongly encourage applications from clinicians who are members of marginalized communities.

DBT Center of Silicon Valley provides an adult and adolescent comprehensive DBT programs, both certified by the Linehan Board of Certification. We are well respected in the community for providing high quality outpatient treatment for clients struggling with emotion dysregulation, as well as for offering DBT skills groups for clients and their families, family therapy, and therapist training. Our team consists of highly trained DBT clinicians, including one certified with the Linehan Board of Certification. We meet weekly for the consultation team and enjoy a collaborative team environment.
