Job description

Love’s Alternative Energy’s highly competitive and fast-growing internship program offers students meaningful opportunities to gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of our alternative fueling solutions business. Participants develop valuable skills and industry knowledge that extend far beyond the classroom while learning the standards, expectations, and professional etiquette of a corporate environment. BASIC PURPOSE:  

The internship program is based out of Love’s Alternative Energy’s headquarters in Houston, TX. This is role is designed to fully immerse students in the day-to-day activities of an alternative fueling solutions company. The program starts with an orientation where Summer Interns learn about our culture, our people, and the different business lines at Love’s Alternative Energy.

After training, Summer Interns will be placed in the Design Build Services (DBS) group. The DBS group is responsible for the design, engineering, project management, and construction of Love’s Alternative Energy’s CNG, Hydrogen, Electric Vehicle Charging, and Solar projects. Summer Interns will be tasked with real responsibilities related to different functions of the business.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Alternative Fueling Station Engineering and Design
  • Alternative Fueling Station Project Management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Currently enrolled in four year university program, a sophomore level or above (pursing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field).

Experience:

  • Past Internship experience a plus but not necessary.

 

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Skills:

  • Hard Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office, general computer knowledge, and basic accounting knowledge
  • Soft Skills: Keen attention to detail, strong oral and verbal communication skills, organization skills, critical thinker, and team player

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
