JOB MISSION

Pacific Lifestyle Homes is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team. The Database Administrator is responsible for the Newstar Database including updates, maintenance, problem resolution, building new options, and coordination with other departments and personnel to produce accurate pricing, purchase orders and reporting. This person will work in tandem with Sales, construction, purchasing and the design studio.

Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support - Provides administrative support to the Purchasing Director
  • System Improvement - Reports issues with the database to avoid mistakes and extra work. Looks for ways to increase efficiency and reduce the amount of time to do a job start. Demonstrate initiative to identify and present new methods for cost reductions and time savings.
  • Teamwork - Support Divisional purchasing teams.
  • End User Training - Provide training for NSE and NSS when needed.
  • Build and maintain new plans and options in the database, creating takeoffs and retail pricing
  • Database Support - Provide Newstar support for other departments.
  • Customer Service - Develops and cultivates positive working relationships with internal customers, staff, subcontractors and vendors.

Competencies, Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 3 to 5 years of increasingly responsible administrative experience to include purchasing and estimating duties; database administrative work experience is preferred.
  • Building industry work experience is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Newstar
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Purchasing Database programming, preferably Newstar
  • High School Diploma and applicable administrative work experience; Associates degree preferred.
