Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Database Administrator, Advanced for our client located in Tallahassee, FL.
This position is an onsite/work-from-home opportunity in Tallahassee, FL, with onsite being highly preferred.
Job Overview:
  • Manage and maintain all production and non-production databases.
  • Maintain responsibility for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration.
  • Perform backup and recovery on Database Management Systems; configure database parameters and prototype designs against logical data models; and define data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing requirements.
  • Optimize database access and allocate/re-allocate database resources for optimum configuration, database performance, and cost.

Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and administration in a multiple platform environment.
  • Experience managing and maintaining all production and non-production databases.
  • Experience performing backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configuring database parameters and prototype designs against logical data models; and defining data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing requirements.
  • Experience optimizing database access and allocating/re-allocating database resources for optimum configuration, database performance, and cost.
  • Highly proficient in both spoken and written English.
  • Experience as an ADABAS database administrator (DBA) and with Software AG products hosted in a mainframe environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Able to work onsite in Tallahassee, Florida.
  • Experience with DB2.

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
