Job description

We are looking for a Database Administrator to support and optimize database environments for a long-term contract opportunity in Delphi, Indiana. Hybrid schedule allowed with some required onsite presence. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience managing SQL-based platforms and improving overall database reliability, availability, and performance. The position will focus on maintaining stable operations, resolving technical issues, and helping ensure data systems meet business and application needs.


Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain database environments across Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, and MySQL platforms.

• Monitor database health, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement tuning improvements to enhance efficiency and stability.

• Troubleshoot database-related incidents, analyze root causes, and apply corrective actions to minimize downtime.

• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to protect data integrity and system availability.

• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure databases are configured to support operational requirements.

• Review database jobs, queries, and indexes regularly to improve execution speed and resource utilization.

• Assist with database security administration by managing access, permissions, and adherence to established standards.

• Document configurations, maintenance activities, and support procedures to promote consistency and operational continuity.

• At least 1 year of experience working in a database administration or closely related technical support role.
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration and day-to-day database support activities.
