Overview

CTG is seeking an experienced Db2 Database Administrator to support a cDB2 migration initiative onto an OpenShift-based EBV platform. This role requires a highly skilled DBA with strong hands-on experience managing Db2 environments, containerized database platforms, migrations, and performance tuning.

Location: Atlanta, GA / Charlotte, NC / Raleigh, NC (No Remote)
Duration: Ongoing Contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, migrate, tune, and support Db2 databases in enterprise environments.
  • Administer Db2/Db2U environments running on OpenShift, including storage, development support, and monitoring.
  • Support migration efforts from cDB2 to Db2 on OpenShift.
  • Perform database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and stability improvements.
  • Manage database jobs and maintenance activities using CRON, ESP, or similar scheduling tools.
  • Collaborate with application and platform teams to support containerized database solutions.
  • Assist with Q Replication (QREP) configuration and support when needed.

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years of Db2 Database Administration experience (Db2 z/OS and/or LUW).
  • Hands-on experience supporting Db2/Db2U on OpenShift or Kubernetes.
  • Strong SQL skills and proven database performance tuning experience.
  • Experience with database migration and modernization initiatives.
  • Experience with CRON, ESP, or enterprise scheduling tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • IBM Q Replication (QREP) experience is a plus.

Experience Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 6–8+ years of practical, hands-on Db2 DBA experience.
  • Strong technical depth is required; candidates will participate in a one-hour interview featuring scenario-based questions focused on real-world troubleshooting and implementation experience.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
