Job description

Senior CAD Designer Civil 3D and Revit Water/Wastewater and Utility Infrastructure

OVERVIEW: We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior CAD Designer to join our Water/Wastewater team in one of our growing Florida East offices (Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, Orlando, Boca Raton). You will support a variety of water and wastewater projects, including pipeline, pump stations, treatment plants, and studies, while leveraging your Autodesk Civil 3D experience.

DURING YOUR WORK-DAY, YOU WILL:

  • Work in a collaborative project team environment, supporting engineers and project managers on pipeline, pump station, and treatment plant projects while producing plans primarily using Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Manage project tasks and coordinate with other CAD staff.
  • Produce plans, profiles, cross-sections, elevations, structure sections, construction details, references, and perspective drawings.
  • Manage CAD drawing files for production, deliverables and archiving.
  • Coordinate with teams outside of Florida East, as needed, to support other McKim & Creed projects.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 7+ years of experience using Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency in Revit, including model development, views, sheets, families, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction drawings, terminology, and drafting standards.
  • Experience preparing plan-and-profile drawings and underground utility designs.
  • Ability to interpret survey data, engineering calculations, sketches, and design markups.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with engineers and other design professionals
  • A methodical and consistent approach to your work, with the ability to a variety of projects and priorities.
  • Effective self-scheduling, organization, and coordination within a project team environment.
  • Technical design skills supporting teams outside of Florida East, as needed, to support other McKim & Creed projects.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to understand, coordinate, and execute tasks assigned by project managers and engineers.
  • Experience with design and project-support software, such as Autodesk Revit and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Associates degree; college-level CAD classes is a plus.
