Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced
Robot Weld Technician to support robotic welding operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for the setup, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and training of robotic welding equipment while providing technical support to the production team. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and experienced with robotic welding systems.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot robotic welding equipment.
- Perform basic robotic programming, including adding, modifying, and removing position points.
- Make fixture and tooling adjustments, including sensor replacements and datum adjustments.
- Perform manual welding and maintain welding qualifications.
- Complete preventative maintenance on robotic welding equipment, including wire feeders, torch components, hose packs, liners, and related consumables.
- Train loaders, welders, inspectors, and other production employees.
- Assist Maintenance and Engineering with troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
- Provide technical support to production operators.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, quality improvements, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Research and test welding supplies and consumables for quality and cost improvements.
- Maintain consumable inventory levels.
- Read and follow blueprints, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Complete required production reports and documentation.
- Follow Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures and all company safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years of related manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience with robotic welding, robotic programming, jigs, fixtures, and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG Welding) preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
- Stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and walk.
- Occasionally climb and balance.
- Lift up to 10 lbs regularly, up to 25 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Work safely around moving machinery, welding equipment, airborne particles, and loud industrial environments.
