Stream Operator / Chat Moderator

Whatnot Operations & Community Coordinator

Unique Designs is launching on Whatnot, a live shopping marketplace, and we are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and energetic team member to support our live selling operations from start to finish.

This role combines live show support, product listing, merchandising, content coordination, community engagement, and customer support. The right person will help prepare each show, support the live host during broadcasts, engage with buyers, promote upcoming shows, and make sure post-show follow-up runs smoothly.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys e-commerce, live shopping, social media, product presentation, and fast-paced selling environments.

Key Responsibilities

Live Show Operations

  • Support live Whatnot shows before, during, and after each broadcast.
  • Manage the product queue, auctions, giveaways, pinned items, and show flow.
  • Monitor chat and help respond to buyer questions in real time.
  • Flag customer issues, technical problems, or product questions during the show.
  • Help the host stay on schedule and focused on selling.
  • Monitor audio, video, lighting, and stream quality during shows.
  • Troubleshoot basic live-streaming issues as they arise.

  • Prepare product notes and talking points for the host.
  • Coordinate with existing inventory and shipping teams to ensure item accuracy.
  • Maintain clean records of listed, sold, and pending products.

Content & Community Support

  • Help promote upcoming Whatnot shows across social media and other marketing channels.
  • Create or coordinate short-form clips, product previews, show reminders, and recap content.
  • Encourage followers to bookmark shows and return for future events.
  • Monitor engagement and help identify which products, show formats, and content perform best.
  • Support community-building with repeat buyers, followers, and fans of the brand.
  • Assist with basic graphics, captions, thumbnails, and promotional messaging.

Customer Experience & Marketplace Support

  • Respond to buyer questions and marketplace messages in a timely, professional manner.
  • Coordinate order questions, exceptions, and issue resolution with the existing shipping team.
  • Track customer issues, feedback, cancellations, returns, or complaints.
  • Maintain simple customer support templates and FAQs.
  • Help protect the company’s seller rating and buyer experience.
  • Assist with post-show reconciliation of sales, order status, and marketplace activity.
