Job description

Job Title: CT Technologist – Day Shift (10-Hour Shifts)

Location: Huntsville, AL
Eligibility Requirement: Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Huntsville, AL

Position Summary

The CT Technologist is a graduate of an accredited AMA school and is registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). This position is responsible for providing timely, high-quality diagnostic imaging services to both inpatient and outpatient populations under the direction of a Radiologist and in accordance with departmental policies and protocols.

  • Day Shift

  • 10-hour shifts

Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited AMA School of Radiologic Technology

  • ARRT Registered Radiographer ARRT (R)

  • ARRT Certified in Computed Tomography ARRT (CT)

  • Licensed by the State as a General Radiographer

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

  • Must live within 50 miles of Huntsville, AL

Key Responsibilities

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures, including but not limited to:

  • Routine and advanced diagnostic CT examinations, including:

    • Head/Brain

    • Neck

    • Thorax

    • Spine

    • Abdomen and Pelvis

    • Extremities

    • CT-guided biopsy and drainage procedures

  • Performance of basic radiographic procedures

  • Fluoroscopy examinations

  • Portable radiographic procedures

  • C-arm imaging

  • Operating Room (OR) imaging services

Technical Knowledge & Skills
  • Demonstrates proficiency in CT system operation and image processing

  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy

  • Experience with studies performed with and without contrast media

  • Understanding of surgical and sterile techniques

  • Adheres to radiation safety standards and departmental protocols

  • Maintains accurate documentation and imaging records

  • Communicates effectively with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members

  • Ensures timely delivery of diagnostic imaging services
