Position Summary... What you'll do...Walmart Central Fill Pharmacy is a specialized type of pharmacy that focuses on processing and dispensing of prescriptions for multiple retail pharmacy locations within a region.  Unlike a traditional pharmacy, Central Fill is full of automation allowing prescriptions to be filled fast and accurately, but the best part of Central Fill pharmacy is taking care of our patients in the community. While we are not patient facing, our job provides retail pharmacies the ability to spend much deserved time providing clinical services and education to the communities they serve.
We’re looking for Full-time Day Shift Specialist, Physical Security to support operations at our new Central Fill Pharmacy in Springfield, MO. Minimum Qualifications:
  • 1 year of experience in Law Enforcement (LEO), Security, or Military
Salary: $22.75 per hour Schedule:
  • Day Shift
  • Hours may vary
  • Schedule is subject to change with little notice, as this is a new Central Fill facility and adjustments may be required to fulfill security operational needs.
  • Sunday availability is required.

The (USA) Specialist, Physical Security plays a critical role in developing and implementing security protocols, training, and emergency response strategies to safeguard associates, assets, and facilities. This position ensures compliance with corporate security standards and regulatory requirements while providing tactical responses to incidents such as workplace violence, fire, and active shooter situations. The specialist collaborates with internal teams and external partners to maintain a secure environment, investigates security threats, and supports continuous improvement efforts. This role demands strong operational expertise, crisis management skills, and a commitment to upholding integrity and safety across all responsibilities.
  About the team:
The Physical Security team designs and implements security strategies to protect retail pharmacy and optical operations. They ensure safety for associates and customers while supporting business continuity and regulatory compliance. This team oversees Health & Wellness security operations and works closely with Threat Management to respond swiftly to incidents and emergencies. Focused on maintaining effective security processes, they promote a secure environment aligned with Walmart’s operational standards. Their dedication to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement supports the company’s commitment to safeguarding people and assets across all locations.
  What you'll do:
  • Support development and implementation of security protocols, programs, and training to enhance safety and compliance.
  • Respond to emergency situations by initiating incident command and providing tactical security responses.
  • Monitor and manage security systems including alarm, intrusion detection, and threat management.
  • Investigate reported threats, policy violations, and security breaches to mitigate risks.
  • Assess visitor threat levels and escort critical information and merchandise securely.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate policies, addressing violations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to promote a safe working environment.
  • Communicate progress, identify improvement opportunities, and adapt to changing conditions.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven experience in physical security operations, emergency response, and incident management.
  • Strong knowledge of crisis management, threat assessment, and tactical security response protocols.
  • Ability to implement and improve security systems, including alarm and intrusion detection responses.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements such as OSHA, PCI, and fire safety codes.
  • Skilled in conducting investigations related to security breaches, policy violations, and threat mitigation.
  • Effective collaboration with internal teams and external agencies to promote a safe environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and adaptability in dynamic situations.

The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00 - $40.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
