As a Residential HVAC Field Service Specialist with Rack Air (a division of Rack), you’ll start with a planned route, arrive prepared, and leave customers delighted with 5-star service. You’ll diagnose issues, perform corrective and preventive maintenance, complete top-quality installations, and clearly communicate solutions. Your work keeps systems efficient, safe, and reliable—while you grow in a supportive, well-structured environment with training and career advancement.

What your day looks like
  • Travel to residential and light commercial sites to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair HVAC systems.
  • Clean, adjust, and service air handling units, ductwork, vents, and condensate drainage to ensure peak performance.
  • Complete expert installations and system upgrades with precision and attention to safety standards.
  • Explain findings and recommendations to customers in clear, friendly language.
  • Document work performed and keep your workspace and vehicle clean and organized.
  • Support occasional emergency/urgent service needs and participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What you bring
  • 2–5+ years of HVAC experience, ideally emphasizing residential service.
  • EPA Certification (required).
  • Valid Driver’s License with at least two years of driving experience (required).
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking abilities for complex HVAC challenges.
  • A positive attitude and pride in delivering high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Exceptional customer focus; skilled at addressing a wide range of client needs.
  • Professional communication skills with people at all levels.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and energized by fast-changing environments.
Physical demands
  • Routinely lift 50 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Climb ladders; access attics and crawlspaces; navigate tight areas; drive; push, carry, and pull; use hand tools; perform fine-detail work.

  • Work indoors and outdoors, including attics and crawlspaces.
