Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring an active CA RN license and 2+ years of PACU experience with ICU background.
Job Details
• Work in the PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) of a hospital setting,
• Care for geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients from admission through discharge,
• 13-week assignment length,
• Day shift schedule with 4x10 hour shifts, start times between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM,
• No weekend shifts required,
• Floating to other campuses required if needed based on census,
• Uses Epic charting system,
Job Requirements
• Active CA RN license required,
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required,
• Current ACLS certification required,
• Current PALS certification preferred,
• Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience required, preferably in a high acute care hospital,
• ICU experience required,
• Extensive cardiac/cath lab experience preferred,
• Epic charting system experience required,
• Teaching hospital experience preferred,
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred,
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• Proficiency in peri-anesthesia standards of care, airway management, and pharmacology required,
Additional Information
• Provide individualized peri-anesthesia nursing care based on nursing process and pharmacology knowledge,
• Perform nursing assessments and manage airway, cardiovascular, neurological, and respiratory care for post-anesthesia patients,
• Administer and monitor medications including antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, IV vasopressors, and reversal agents,
• Support a range of surgical specialties including cardiac, neuro, ortho, GI, GYN, urology, and more,
• Manage patients undergoing various anesthesia types including general, spinal, MAC, and nerve blocks,
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for local candidate consideration,
• Holiday coverage may be required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas,
• Only one holiday request off per contract will be approved,
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract,
• Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation to be eligible to return as a traveler,
