Job Title: Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Histology & Molecular

Location: North Scottsdale, Arizona (Off of East Bell Road & the 101)

Employment Type: Full Time With Benefits (Medical, Life, Dental, Vision, and 401k)

Compensation: $100,000 - $135,000 annually (Dependent on Experience)

Schedule: On-site Monday - Friday. 8-hour day shift. No nights, no weekends, and no major holidays!

Overview:

Envita Medical Centers and GeneticFirst Laboratories are seeking a Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist to support high-complexity testing across histology and molecular workflows. This role is responsible for processing clinical specimens, performing advanced staining and molecular techniques, and ensuring compliance with CLIA and quality standards.

This is a hands-on, cross-functional role suited for a seasoned technologist with strong experience in both tissue-based diagnostics and molecular workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, accession, and process blood and tissue specimens with full traceability
  • Perform tissue processing and cryostat section
  • Prepare high-quality slides and perform:
    • Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
    • Immunofluorescence staining
  • Conduct RNA/DNA extraction from tissue and blood samples
  • Perform nucleic acid QC using TapeStation, NanoDrop, and Qubit
  • Support Spatial Biology and NGS workflows (library prep and sequencing support)
  • Perform microscopy (brightfield and fluorescence) for QC analysis
  • Maintain accurate documentation in LIMS and laboratory records
  • Perform routine QC, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, GLP, and laboratory SOPs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or related field, Master's degree and/or PhD preferred
  • Meets CLIA high-complexity testing personnel requirements
  • 5+ years of clinical laboratory experience (histology and molecular)
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Tissue sectioning (microtomy and cryostat)
    • Slide preparation and staining
    • Cell culture and/or CTC isolation
    • RNA/DNA extraction for human specimens
  • Experience handlining clinical patient samples (blood and tissue)
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, documentation, and compliance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASCP certification (MLS, MLT, HTL, or MB)
  • Experience with NGS workflows
  • Familiarity with spatial biology workflows and advanced microscopy
