Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Responsibilities

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will:

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting

  • Administer medications, treatments, and physician-ordered interventions within your scope of practice

  • Monitor resident conditions and promptly report changes to the Registered Nurse (RN) or physician

  • Perform nursing assessments and assist with developing and updating individualized care plans

  • Accurately document resident care in the electronic medical record (EMR)

  • Collaborate with Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), physicians, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team

  • Supervise and support Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)

  • Promote resident comfort, dignity, safety, and quality of life

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility policies and regulations

  • Participate in infection prevention and quality improvement initiatives

  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program

  • Current, active Missouri Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing

  • Current BLS/CPR Certification (or ability to obtain)

  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, post-acute care, assisted living, or hospital nursing is preferred but not required

  • Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team

  • Passion for providing exceptional, resident-centered care
