Join GE and power innovation at our Jacksonville manufacturing site. We're seeking a motivated Equipment Services Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize electro-mechanical and electronic production/test equipment that keeps our operations running safely and efficiently.
What you'll do
  • Troubleshoot, repair and calibrate electro-mechanical and electronic equipment, including precision test instruments and high-voltage systems (up to 40 kV and higher).
  • Program, operate and support oven controllers, PLCs and other electronic controllers used in production and ATP testing.
  • Fabricate and install custom test fixtures and in-house equipment; set up and use drill presses, band saws, grinders and hand tools.
  • Create and interpret sketches, schematics, blueprints and equipment specifications to document modifications and custom builds.
  • Maintain inventory of spare/replacement parts and coordinate with vendors for services and repairs.
  • Support cross-functional teams and assist engineers with equipment overhauls, modifications and equipment selection.
  • Work flexible/extended hours (including weekends or shift work) as needed to support production demands.

Required qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining
  • Associate Degree in Electronic Technologies + 2 years' relevant experience, OR minimum 5 years' applicable experience with electro-mechanical and electronic equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic skills: Microsoft Office, computer programming concepts, blueprint/schematic interpretation, multimeters/oscilloscopes and other electronic measuring devices.
  • Electrical experience: familiarity with 120/208/240/480 VAC systems and experience working with high-voltage equipment.
  • Mechanical and systems knowledge: pneumatics, hydraulics, vacuum and thermal systems; basic PLC understanding.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and fabrication skills and effective written and verbal communication.

Desired
  • Prior machine-shop experience and comfort using hand tools.
  • Willingness to work extended/flexible hours to meet business needs.
