Description:Job Title: Sandblasting / Debur / Degreasing Tech (will train the right candidate)

Company/Location: Nico Products / Minneapolis MN

Shift: 3:00pm-1:00am Monday-Thursday + OT as needed.** That's a 4-day work week!


**This position will be required to train on 1st shift (5am-3pm) for 1 to 3 months upon hire.**ย 


Pay: $22.00/hour

Signing Bonus: $1500.00 (current employees are not eligible for signing bonus)

Position Duties: Responsible for preparing metal parts for processing by removing imperfections, cleaning surfaces and ensuring parts meet quality standards. The technician operates specialized equipment to perform sandblasting, deburring, and degreasing tasks


What are we looking for? The following duties and requirements can help determine if you are a good fit for us, and if we are a good fit for you. Attendance is CRITICAL to our success and need people that are committed to being at work, as scheduled.


DUTIES:

  • Upholds company policies and procedures
  • Reads Work Orders and Purchase Orders to determine specific blasting/degreasing/deburring instructions.
  • Coordinates with Shift Supervisor for scheduling jobs.
  • Completes all required paperwork for each job
  • Logs completed jobs into the company tracking system
  • Meet expected rates, as outlined by Supervisor.
  • Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Examine completed part to ensure it meets Quality standards
  • Sandblasting: Operate sandblasting equipment to clean, smooth, or roughen surfaces using abrasive media.
  • Deburring: Use deburring tools and machines, such as hand files, grinders, and polishing tools to remove sharp edges, burrs,, and excess material from machines parts.
  • Degreasing: Operate degreasing machines or use chemical solutions to clean metal parts of oils, grease, and other contaminants before further processing.
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on sandblasting, deburring, and degreasing equipment.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

SKILLS REQUIRED (Skills that re most desired):

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
  • 0-2 years experience or machinery operations experience
  • Experience working with various types of metals
  • Ability to maintain a regular and reliable attendance record
  • Fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Must be a US citizen or have authorization to work in the US
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and follow written instructions
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to follow instructions
  • Basic math and geometry
  • Ability to read an analog clock
  • Ability to read a ruler/tape measure
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Perform duties with safety in mind
  • Good hand/eye coordination
  • Knowledge of sandblasting, deburring, degreasing techniques preferred.
  • Ability to lift as needed
  • Ability to interact with coworkers and supervisors in a cooperative manner
