The Role

We're looking for a Director of FP&A to serve as the financial anchor of this fast-scaling business. You'll own the full planning stack (Long Term Financial Plan, Annual Budget, and Monthly Outlook) and translate Shopping's strategy into the forecasts, capital-allocation framing, and investment cases that decide where the business puts its next dollar. This is a high-influence seat: you'll partner directly with the division's founders, who continue to drive the business, as well as senior finance leaders, holding the relationships needed to unlock resources and drive alignment across corporate planning, controllership, and broader finance. Just as important, you'll lead and grow a small, embedded finance team built for leverage, automating the recurring work so the group spends its time on high judgment, strategic work. It's a rare chance to shape both the financial trajectory and the operating model of a business at an inflection point, with real ownership over how capital is deployed and how the function scales.

General Responsibilities

• Partner with business leadership to assess the financial implications of strategic growth initiatives

• Develop and present insightful financial and business performance reporting for senior leadership audiences

• Champion cost optimization initiatives with cross-functional teams

• Anticipate and resolve complex financial challenges

• Drive short and long-term forecast planning routines

• Lead, mentor and grow a high-performing team

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or other quantitative discipline, or military experience

• At least 7 years of experience in Finance, Business Analytics, Accounting, Strategy Consulting, or a combination

• At least 4 years' experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function

• At least 3 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Finance

• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license

• 8+ years' experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• 5+ years' experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function

• 4+ years of people management experience including both direct & indirect reports

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $206,000 - $235,100 for Director, Financial Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
