Nature & Purpose of Position
The Academic Success Center will support students in advancing their competencies in ASL. Tutoring sessions offered will be conducted either face-to-face or online to support individual requests or small-groups. The center may also provide support for dedicated lab hours and structured study sessions as needed to enhance learning opportunities. A typical day will include but is not limited to: assisting students with study strategies, content review/interpretation, mastery in understanding/comprehension, facilitating language practice during lab hours, and guiding collaborative learning during scheduled study sessions.
Other Requirements for the Position
  1. 3.0 overall GPA (on 4.0 scale)
  2. "B" or better in ASL coursework
  3. Possess the potential and ability to develop language skills to students/peers
  4. Patience
