Job description

Amazon Relay connects thousands of carriers and drivers to freight opportunities across the middle-mile transportation network. The Relay Trust organization protects this network by detecting and preventing fraud, misuse, and abuse that threaten customer experience and network reliability. We are looking for a Product Manager who will own the product vision, strategy, and delivery of trust and safety solutions that protect Amazon, our carriers, and our customers. You will build new products from the ground up, define how risk signals are detected and actioned, and partner with Engineering, Science, and Operations teams to ship solutions that scale with the network. This role requires someone who can operate in ambiguity, define structure where none exists, and influence cross-functional teams to deliver results.
Key job responsibilities
Own the product strategy and roadmap for trust and safety capabilities within Relay. Define how risk events are detected, investigated, and resolved across categories including fraud, compliance violations, and policy abuse.
Translate complex risk and fraud problems into clear product requirements. Write detailed product documents, define user workflows, and prioritize features based on customer impact and business value. Drive products from concept through design, development, testing, and launch.
Partner with Engineering and Applied Science teams to build detection models and integrate them into operational workflows. Define how risk signals from multiple sources feed into enforcement actions and how automation can reduce manual effort.
Collaborate with Loss Prevention, Operations, and Compliance teams to understand investigation workflows and build tools that improve speed and accuracy. Gather feedback continuously and iterate on the product experience.
Define success metrics including detection precision, false positive rates, resolution time, and investigator productivity. Use data to measure progress, identify gaps, and inform roadmap decisions.
Influence cross-functional teams without direct authority. Align Engineering, Science, Operations, and Leadership on priorities and tradeoffs. Communicate product strategy clearly to senior leadership through written narratives and business reviews.
A day in the life
Your day involves a mix of defining product requirements, reviewing detection model outputs, and partnering with teams to solve problems. You might spend the morning writing a product document for a new detection workflow, then review model performance with your Science partner in the afternoon.
The problems you solve include building systems that surface risk quickly, reducing time to investigate and resolve issues, improving detection accuracy, and creating products that scale as the network grows.
About the team
Relay Trust sits within Relay Product and Tech and is responsible for protecting Amazon's middle-mile transportation network from fraud, misuse, and abuse. The team builds detection systems, investigation tools, and enforcement mechanisms that keep the network safe. You will work alongside Engineers, Applied Scientists, Loss Prevention specialists, and Operations partners in a fast-paced environment where your product decisions directly impact network safety and carrier trust.
