Seeking CNC Machinists for our Redford, MI location!


Pay: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour

Job description:

  1. PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position contributes to the company's success by having a thorough understanding with specialized experience in machining large-scale, heavy metallic components. The operator will be responsible for large-format vertical mills to machine critical parts weighing over 500lbs. and exceeding 24” in section size. The role requires strong attention to detail, precision, and the ability to follow instructions accurately. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:


  1. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reviews shop orders, interprets complex aerospace blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Performs geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) callouts with extremely tight tolerances.
  • Monitors and changes cutting tools(inserts) as needed.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

  1. QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Set up and operates heavy duty CNC vertical machining centers to mill, drill, face and bore massive metallic forgings, castings, and billets.
  • Safely load, align, and secure parts weighing 500 + lbs. onto machine beds using overhead cranes, hoists, rigging hardware, and custom heavy fixtures
  • Adhere strictly to AS9100 quality management system standards and documentation
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.


  1. Education and/or Experience
  • High School graduate or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating CNC machines in an aerospace, defense, or heavy industrial manufacturing setting
