Job description

Position Title: Self-Defense Instructor

Reports to: Group Fitness Manager
Location: Fitness Central East
Address: 6170 Lee Hwy, Chattanooga, TN 37421

Duties & Responsibilities

- Deliver the Fitness Central experience to our members in each class.

- Adhere to the description of the class and modify the intensity for participants when necessary.

- Continuously monitor the exercise/movement intensity throughout the duration of the class.

- Report to class a minimum of 15 minutes before class to ensure the room is clean and set up properly.

- Begin and end each class on time.

- Teach respective classes on a regular basis and keep subbing to a minimum

- Communicate with the Group Fitness Manager on member feedback, equipment and operation status as well as scheduling and subbing.

- Ensure the equipment is put away, sanitized and properly stored.


Knowledge & Qualifications

- Instructors must have a current self-defense certification.

- Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification.

- Must be well-versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, and exercise modifications for all populations.

- Must be eager to learn and continue professional development and education.
