Job Title: Program Coordinator

Department: RecreationReports To: Recreation Manager / Recreation Director

Position Summary:The Program Facilitator is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and overseeing recreation programs and leagues for participants of various ages and skill levels. This role ensures programs run efficiently, promotes positive sportsmanship and participant engagement, and provides a high-quality recreational experience for the community.

Key Responsibilities:โ€ข Plan, schedule, and manage recreation programs, leagues, events, and activitiesโ€ข Coordinate participant registrations, rosters, schedules, and communication with participants, parents, coaches, or team managersโ€ข Serve as the primary point of contact for program participants, addressing questions and resolving issues in a professional mannerโ€ข Oversee day-to-day program operations, including facility setup, equipment readiness, and activity supervisionโ€ข Recruit, schedule, and communicate with officials, instructors, volunteers, and program staff as neededโ€ข Enforce program rules, policies, and sportsmanship standardsโ€ข Track attendance, standings, scores, or other program-related records as applicableโ€ข Ensure participant safety and respond appropriately to incidents, injuries, or emergenciesโ€ข Assist with marketing and promotion efforts to increase participation and community engagementโ€ข Evaluate program operations and recommend improvements for future programmingโ€ข Maintain a positive, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants

Qualifications:โ€ข Strong organizational and communication skillsโ€ข Ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and responsibilities effectivelyโ€ข Knowledge of recreation programming, sports leagues, or community activities preferredโ€ข Customer service experience and ability to handle conflict professionallyโ€ข Ability to work evenings and weekends based on program schedulesโ€ข Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets, scheduling software, and email communicationโ€ข Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment:โ€ข Work may take place indoors or outdoors depending on assigned programs and activitiesโ€ข Requires standing, walking, lifting light equipment, and general physical activityโ€ข Evening and weekend hours may be required during active program seasons or special events

Objective:To deliver well-organized, safe, and enjoyable recreation programs that foster community engagement, teamwork, skill development, and positive recreational experiences for participants of all ages.

Compensation:โ€ข Flat rate of $1,000 per league administered.
