Job Title: Bakery Bench Hand
Reports To: Bakery Department Manager

As a Bakery Bench Hand, you will play a key role in ensuring our bakery is stocked with fresh, high-quality products and delivering exceptional foodservice.


What You'll Do:
As a Festival Foods Bakery Bench Hand, you will:

  • Provide Exceptional Guest Service: Providing excellent guest service is at the heart of what we do.  Whether it’s a friendly greeting, answering questions or addressing guest concerns, you’ll handle each interaction with professionalism and care. Your willingness to help guests with what they need will make a positive impact every day. 
  • Production Excellence: Follow recipes and production lists precisely to produce high-quality pastry and bakery items. Ensure attention to dates and freshness, handle outdated items properly, and meet high-quality standards.
  • Sanitation and Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness in baker prep areas, ensuring all surfaces, tools, and equipment are clean and organized. Adhere to Health Department guidelines and Festival Foods sanitation and safety practices, including proper glove use.
  • Inventory and Stock Management: Oversee items on the sales floor, making decisions on what needs to be produced to ensure coverage for the evening. Keep cooler, freezer, and dry storage areas clean and organized.
  • Offer Assistance: Provide excellent foodservice and customer service by assisting guests with finding items, taking and executing special orders, and addressing any concerns or issues with products.
  • Food Safety: Maintain food safety logs and ensure all quality standards are met, including quantity expectations at 100% by designated times.
  • Support: Assist all bakery associates with daily responsibilities and contribute to overall cleanliness and organization of the department.
  • Teamwork: Perform other duties as needed to support the team.
  • Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.

What We're Looking For:
To succeed as a Festival Foods Bakery Bench Hand, you should have:

  • Experience and Skills: Ability to effectively deal with guests and all personnel, with a strong understanding of baking and pastry production. Knowledge of foodservice operations is essential.
  • Safety Knowledge: Follow all safety requirements and company safety policies, with proper training and knowledge of bakery equipment and procedures, including ovens, mixers, and slicing machinery.
