Job description


TITLE: BUILDINGS & GROUNDS
QUALIFICATIONS:




1. Black Seal License (recommended)
2. Minimum experience as determined by the board.
3. Knowledge of plant operation and maintenance; cleaning methods and
procedures; heating and ventilation; proper handling of hazardous
materials.
4. Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
5. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or
legal resident alien status.
6. Valid Driver's License required.









REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF BUILDING & GROUNDS


JOB GOAL: To provide a safe, clean, and exceptional school facilities and district grounds.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Cleaning and maintaining all facilities assigned to the district's standards following written
protocols.
2. Maintain, enhance, and ensure safe manicured landscaping on all district properties, this
includes but is not limited to gutter cleaning, topsoil dressing, grass cutting, hedge and tree
trimming, leaf cleaning, mulching, keeping the grounds free from rubbish and debris etc. to the
district's standards following written protocols.
3. Preparing for all pre-athletic and post-athletic events by make sure the fields/courts are
properly maintained, lined, and are safe for all participates following the district's standards and
written protocols.
4. Snow and ice removal using shovels, truck plows, and other mechanical devices on all district
properties to the district's standards following written protocols.
5. Maintaining all district equipment including but not limited to district trucks, mowers, blowers,
chain saws, plows, UTV's, etc, as per manufacturers specifications.
6. Keeping all district equipment clean daily and storing all equipment neatly and properly to the
district's standards following protocols.
7. Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner to the district's standards following written
protocols.
8. Completing general maintenance work including but not limited to carpentry, sheetrock,
spackling, painting, playground inspections and repairs, etc. to the district's standards following
written protocols.
9. Responsible to move, store or discard furniture or equipment when assigned.
10. Obeys all fire/safety and environmental laws and regulations relating to the district operations.
11. Complies with all laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of recyclables, trash, waste,
and debris.
12. Responsible for opening and closing all district buildings, if needed while following the districts
policies, rules and regulations.
13. Follows all district safety protocols, OSHA, POSHA, and other recognized workplace safety
standards while working in the district.
14.Black Seal Boiler License (required by end of first year of employment)
15.Performs all duties as assigned by the administration.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be determined by the board of education.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions
of the board's policy on evaluation of noncertified staff.

Salary: Following the established BBEA Salary Guide ranging from $40,925 to $63,730.
