Job description

STV’s Los Angeles, CA office is seeking an Electrical Engineering Specialist with 7+ years experience for our Buildings Division in our Hybrid setting Office. Successful candidates must possess a bachelor’s in electrical engineering (BSEE) from an accredited electrical engineering university. The ideal candidate will have successfully completed multiple MEP projects which he/ she was the responsible engineer, and which showcase his/ her skills with, developing design documents, specifications/ report writing, and other electrical engineering tasks. Skills with Revit, AutoCAD, energy, and load calculation software are a plus. Strong computer skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills are required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting the electrical lead, in the planning, including development of proposal and budget estimates, design and post design of electrical systems for facilities projects for a broad client base.
  • Design services to both public agencies and private corporations.
  • Current projects include public transit terminals and transportation maintenance facilities, municipal buildings such as public work facilities.
  • Light commercial. Other potential projects include maintenance facilities, and solar/ distributed energy resource projects.
  • Mentoring of junior electrical engineers assigned to his/ her projects and supporting the design in Revit and AutoCAD for the projects assigned.
  • Assisting other electrical staff on their projects as required.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineer (BSEE).
  • Experience: 7 years relevant experience as an electrical engineer.
  • E.I.T. Certification, P.E. license preferred but not a requirement; must have aspirations to obtain P.E. license in near future.
  • Has strong knowledge of codes such as NEC, NFPA, IBC, Life Safety Code, Energy Code (Title 24), etc.
  • Strong time management skills and pays close attention to details.
  • Adaptable, agile, and responsive to quick changes in direction.
  • Ability to establish rapport and credibility with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership and works well in a team.
  • Actively demonstrate initiatives and able to work independently under pressure to meet deadlines efficiently.

Compensation Range: $91,976.90 - $105,116.46
