Kaiser Warrick is looking for a dynamic problem solver to work with us in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role is responsible for executing electrical engineering services to safely meet Warrick Operations' business plan by providing support to production, maintenance, and the engineering team. This position is a critical interface in the efficiency, output, and quality of our processes and will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and designing new electrical systems.
What you'll do:
• Providing process improvements to safely meet Warrick Operations' business plan.
• Function as a problem solver. Apply theory and experience to accurately troubleshoot problems, develop sustainable fixes, and drive long-term improvements to equipment.
• Troubleshoot control systems for manufacturing equipment.
• Provide problem solving support for maintenance and engineering.
• Troubleshoot and repair 24-volt DC controls.
• Interpret PID, hydraulic, pneumatic, and wiring diagrams.
• Troubleshoot and repair field instrumentation: proximity, limit, flow, temperature, and pressure switches.
• Use PLC, HMI and data collection systems to analyze equipment performance.
• Troubleshoot electrical distribution systems and power supplies.
• Problem solve issues with motors, drives, and motor control centers.
• Assisting production and maintenance with equipment and process issues.
• Lead and participate in process improvements with multi-discipline technical staff, maintenance, and production.
• Work to eliminate waste through reliability enhancements and monitoring processes, ensuring they are in control and meeting expectations.
What you'll need to succeed:
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical and electronic systems.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment: noisy, hot, cold, elevation, outside.
• Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Willing to work nonstandard shifts, which include weekends and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent in related discipline work experience.
• 5-7 years of electrical maintenance or engineering experience within industrial, commercial, or military environments.
• Experience with PLC's, HMI's, AC drives & motors, low & medium power distribution, and instrumentation.
• Industrial control network troubleshooting.
• Root cause problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
