  • 3-5 years of experience in Customs Brokerage (must be a licensed Customs Broker).
  • Ability to offer guidance and demonstrate leadership within the Miami Customs Brokerage team.
  • Ability to oversee the correct and timely creation and transmission of entries to US Customs.
  • Fluency in Spanish in required.
  • Cargowise experience is a plus.

About the Position Duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
  • Prepares customs entries for all import shipments to be submitted to and released from U.S. Customs in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that all entries are properly classified by using tools such as company profiles, CROSS (Customs Rulings Online Search System), Internet and communicating with the Importer of record.
  • Create invoices for duty and entry charges to be sent to the Billing Department.
  • Develop and maintain customer profiles based on the customer's shipment history. Coordinate with customers to classify new commodities according to HTS.
  • Answer any Brokerage related inquiries internally and externally.
  • Assist with compliance matters including; verifying power of attorney and conducting in depth research and development of classification.
  • Responsible for ensuring that daily statements are paid to U.S. Customs in a timely manner.
  • Conducts audits on customs entries to check for any errors.
  • Support the Sales Department to help increase Brokerage sales by joining sales calls and educating customers on Brokerage operations.
  • Creating and developing new ideas, systems and procedures to improve the Brokerage Department's overall efficiency.
  • Assist with evaluating department performance and creating performance goals.

Work Schedule
Miami Office 89:00 am - 6:00 pm EST
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience with Entry Writing, U.S. Customs.
  • Prior leadership or management experience strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • HTS classification and valuation
    • ACE, ABI, and CROSS
    • U.S. Customs and PGA regulations
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and people-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Entry Writing, U.S. Customs
  • Customs Brokerage License

Salary
$80,000-$100,000 base salary based on education and experience level.
