Job description

Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School in West Seattle seeks a qualified Extended Care (EDC) Assistant , starting March 2026.

Our school serves Preschool thru 8th grade students in an inclusive Catholic school environment. We are committed to our mission: "OLG fosters Gospel values, inspires academic excellence, and develops service and leadership. We face this as a sacramental community united and empowered by the Holy Spirit."

The successful candidate will have the skill and enthusiasm to support our Extended Day care, serving our K-8 students, and be a part of a collaborative team. A successful team member will challenge students to grow, explore and try new things, outside of the classroom setting. Candidates should hold a minimum of a high school diploma, and will be expected to fully pass a background check, and Virtus Safe Environment training. CPR/ First Aid and DCYF background check preferred. A successful candidate collaborates well with others, is flexible, reliable and dependable, and has the confidence to work independently with minimal absences. OLG School seeks highly qualified applicants, with experience working with school-aged children in a multi-age setting.  A preference will be given to candidates who are practicing Catholics. 


Typical Schedule: 

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 2:45-5:00pm & Wednesdays: 2:00-5:00pm

 Additional hours on non-school days, days. 

~2-3 hours a day. No more than 18 hours a week. 


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Extended Day Care Director in implementing the mission of the Parish and the School, through participation and evaluation of OLG school's goals and objectives as a member of the school staff.
  • Work in small groups, one on one groups, and occasionally whole group to support the diverse needs of our learners, in a joyful and enriching environment.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance and communication. Is expected to have minimal absences. 
  • Conflict management between students, working towards resolutions and problem solving. 

Pay Rate and Benefits

Hourly rate: $ 22 - $24.00 per hour, varied by experience. 

  • Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications. 

As a part-time role, this position is not eligible for benefits.
