La Storia Productions is seeking an experienced, full-time, in-house Documentary Editor with a heart for storytelling and passion for learning to join our team on a one year, full-time, retainer contract.
What We're Looking For:
  • Minimum 5 years of professional camera operating experience
  • Must be local to the Greater Boulder / Denver / Longmont Areas of CO (in-office collaborative role, not a remote position)
  • Available to start ASAP & Commit to a 1-Yr, M-F Contract

As our in-house Documentary Editor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping powerful and compelling stories by meticulously assembling raw footage into captivating narratives that resonate with audiences worldwide. This position will largely support an existing aerospace client on retainer with La Storia, and amongst other smaller edit requests throughout the course of the year, the primary focus will be on the edit of a 6x episode branded content docuseries with runtimes of ~25-mins per episode. As such, an interest in learning technology beyond our industry, an eye for detail, supremely organized workflow, a deep understanding of documentary storytelling, and proficiency with contemporary editing software will be critical for success in this role.
This role will collaborate closely with our Head of Post Production and account Director in addition to DP's, Directors, Producers, clients and other creative professionals to bring contracted work to life through the post-production phase.

Responsibilities
  • Edit raw footage into cohesive and engaging documentary narratives and deliverables that align with the Director and Client's vision.
  • Collaborate closely with Directors, Head of Post, DP, Producers and Clients to refine story arcs and pacing throughout the editing process.
  • Incorporate in-house provided sound design, music, and color correction LUTs to enhance the overall production quality.
  • Manage and organize large volumes of video and audio assets efficiently and systematically.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to video and audio editing to ensure smooth workflows.
  • Meet project deadlines while maintaining high artistic and technical standards.
  • Help to create and maintain a professional and clean office environment for co-workers and clients
  • Maintain a general knowledge of the latest computer hardware and storage technology, as they relate to the editing process and are beneficial to our industry and clients
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the latest editing programs, tools, processes and technique advancements
  • Maintain ability to quickly and effectively edit projects in Adobe Premiere or Davinci Resolve

Requirements
  • Excellent storytelling skills with a solid understanding of documentary structure and narrative flow.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Audition preferred.
  • 2D and 3D animation skillset a perk, but not required.
  • Experience with Google Drive suite.
