Job description

We are looking for an experienced ETL Developer with strong hands-on expertise in IBM DataStage and IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D) to design, develop, optimize, and support enterprise-scale data integration solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ETL development, data warehousing, data transformation, performance tuning, and modernization initiatives involving migration from legacy DataStage platforms to cloud-based data environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy ETL and data integration solutions using IBM DataStage (11.x and above).
  • Develop scalable data pipelines supporting batch and near real-time data processing.
  • Perform migration and modernization activities from traditional DataStage environments to IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D).
  • Build reusable ETL frameworks, shared containers, parameter sets, and automation components.
  • Develop complex data transformations including data mapping, cleansing, enrichment, and validation.
  • Optimize ETL workflows, database operations, and data processing performance.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
  • Create technical design documents, source-to-target mappings, and operational support documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise data quality, governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to understand requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
Required Experience/Technical Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in ETL development and data integration.
  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM DataStage and enterprise data warehouse environments.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery teams with strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Strong expertise in IBM DataStage (11.x and above).
  • Hands-on experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D).
  • Strong experience in ETL design and development.
  • Good understanding of data warehousing concepts and architecture.
  • Advanced SQL development skills.
  • Experience with data modeling concepts.
  • Experience in data migration and ETL modernization projects.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience migrating ETL workloads from IBM DataStage to IBM Cloud Pak for Data.
  • Exposure to cloud-native data platforms and enterprise modernization initiatives.
  • Experience with scheduling tools such as Autosys, Control-M, or similar enterprise schedulers.
  • Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage concepts.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and automated deployment pipelines for ETL applications.
  • Experience working with large-scale enterprise data platforms and high-volume data processing environments.
  • Banking and Financial Services domain experience is preferred.
