This position will be embedded within multiple datacenters to provide ongoing maintenance and repair of electronic security devices and door hardware. Focusing on live building environments, technicians will be working alongside client personnel, external vendors, and their clients.  A successful Embedded Electronic Security Technician can work independently, with minimal supervision, provide daily updates of ticket work performed, and reach out to his team manager for support as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Execute, track, and update ticket assignments.
  • Be professional in client interactions with focus on excellent communications.
  • Coordinate with other stakeholders who may need to be involved with tickets.
  • Read and understand written specifications, drawings and controlling documents. Maintain current and accurate documentation of systems.
  • Record changes made to systems for accurate change management.
  • Perform user training, as required, when improper user operation is observed.
  • Perform all work in a manner consistent with policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure repairs are tested with client and accepted before closing tickets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of general access control systems. Genetec, Lenel, and Mercury knowledge is strongly preferred.
  • Effectively utilize diagnostic tools, such as a Multimeter, Line Toner, Cable Tester, etc.
  • Utilize boom and scissor lift equipment and/or platform ladders on a daily basis.
  • Skills/experience using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to be creative and resourceful in obtaining solutions to uncommon applications.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team atmosphere.
  • Strong organization skills, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer focus and a strong commitment to client satisfaction.
Other Eligibility Requirements
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screening.
  • Clean criminal background
  • Ability to obtain Virginia DCJS Electronic Security Technician registration within 90 days of hire.

*Please note that a company vehicle, a gas card and a laptop will be provided for this position.
