Summary

The Lead Specialist - ITIS Server Delivery Datacenter Services role is part of the ITIS Server Delivery team and is responsible for the implementation, operation, and lifecycle management of enterprise datacenter infrastructure services. This position leverages standard tools to automate server provisioning, configuration management, and build definitions, while maintaining server, storage, and datacenter installation standards and ensuring effective asset lifecycle governance.

This role has primary ownership of HPE-based compute and storage platforms, including standalone servers, blade systems, and HPE storage arrays, and ensures operational patching and baseline compliance across compute, storage, SAN, and data protection platforms. Infrastructure is supported across the Enterprise Datacenter (ETDC), Business Continuity Centers (BCC), and field locations.

The position plays a key role in datacenter integration activities related to acquisitions, including discovery, standardization, migration, and eventual consolidation or decommissioning of acquired infrastructure environments, as well as participation in business continuity and disaster recovery solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain enterprise datacenter infrastructure services, with primary focus on HPE standalone and blade server platforms
  • Serve as the subjectmatter lead for:
    • HPE standalone servers
    • HPE blade systems
    • HPE storage arrays
  • Design, configure, and support enterprise storage, backup, and recovery platforms, including:
    • HPE storage arrays (primary platform)
    • NetApp storage systems (block and file, snapshots, replication, and capacity management)
    • Pure Storage platforms for highperformance workloads
    • Cohesity data protection platforms for backup, recovery, and reporting
  • Manage and support clustered server environments, ensuring availability, performance, and scalability
  • Support datacenter SAN and fabric technologies, including:
    • Brocade SAN switching and fabric connectivity
  • Lead and support datacenter integration efforts for company acquisitions, including:
    • Infrastructure discovery and assessment of acquired environments
    • Alignment to enterprise compute, storage, SAN, and security standards
    • Migration of workloads, data, and services into approved datacenter platforms
    • Hardware refresh, consolidation, or decommissioning of legacy infrastructure
    • Accurate CMDB updates and documentation throughout the integration lifecycle
  • Automate server and storage deployments and configuration for converged and integrated infrastructure solutions, including HPE OneView
  • Work across the IT organization and with IT leadership to assess business drivers and deliver fitforpurpose technical solutions
  • Enhance automation and configuration management following established coding standards for compute and storage integration activities
  • Perform full server and storage asset lifecycle management, including:
    • Procurement and ordering
    • CMDB server and storage CI accuracy
    • Inventory tracking and audits
    • Annual compute and storage refresh planning
    • Decommissioning, disposal, and lot sale coordination
  • Ensure HPE server builds, blade chassis configurations, storage standards, and integration patterns are clearly documented and consistently followed
  • Maintain asis and tobe datacenter documentation, including rack layouts, blade chassis layouts, power, SAN and network connectivity, and inventory documentation
  • Provide performance, utilization, and capacity reporting across compute and storage platforms
  • Compile infrastructure data for annual support renewals, maintenance contracts, and licensing trueup activities
  • Operate and maintain infrastructure information within SolarWinds VMAN, Configuration Management systems, Asset Management tools, and IPAM
  • Deliver IT Service Management support to ensure timely resolution of incidents and problems
  • Participate in a 24/7 oncall rotation for emergencies or operational assistance
  • Ability to lift computer equipment

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of relevant jobrelated infrastructure experience
  • Strong experience with HPE standalone servers and HPE blade systems (primary compute platforms)
  • Strong experience administering and supporting HPE storage arrays
  • Experience with datacenter integration activities related to acquisitions, including discovery, migration, standardization, and decommissioning
  • Experience with server infrastructure procurement and lifecycle management
  • Experience with clustered server environments
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux server operating systems
  • Experience with additional enterprise infrastructure platforms, including:
    • Dell servers and storage
    • NetApp storage platforms
    • Pure Storage platforms
  • Experience with Cohesity backup and data protection solutions
  • Experience with SAN technologies, including Brocade fabric configuration and management
  • Experience with HPE OneView or similar infrastructure automation and management tools
  • Experience with SolarWinds for server and infrastructure monitoring
  • Experience with scripting and automation for standardized compute and storage deployments
  • Experience with infrastructure design, implementation, documentation, and disaster recovery
  • Ability to follow established change management guidelines and perform work during afterhours maintenance windows

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Senior IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
  • The Principal IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 10+ years of relevant job related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL v3 / ITSM experience working within Incident, Change, and Problem Management frameworks
  • Experience supporting HPEcentric datacenter environments at enterprise scale
  • Experience supporting acquisition integration programs or largescale infrastructure consolidation initiatives
  • Experience supporting missioncritical compute, SAN, and storage platforms

Working Conditions

  • Primarily normal office working conditions
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position approximately 50% of the time due to prolonged sitting or standing
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required (including acquisition site visits)
  • Occasional weekend or afterhours work may be required
  • Occasional visits to datacenter, industrial, or manufacturing settings, which may include:
    • Exposure to loud machinery
    • Extreme temperature conditions
    • Various materials or chemicals
    • Requirement to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
