Job description

Amazon Web Services is seeking bright, motivated, hardworking individuals to fill Data Center Logistics positions. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in logistics with a focus of transportation, shipping receiving and inventory control and warehousing. They must possesses a strong work ethic, attention to detail, the ability to multitask and operate in a very fast paced complex environment, meet deadlines, and a commitment to Operational Excellence. Additionally offering strong customer support and the ability to remain flexible with frequent shifts in priorities.
The Logistics Specialist will process in-stock components as well as receive and process inbound shipments and coordinate and execute daily equipment deliveries to Datacenters across the region. Also be able to drive up to 10 hours a day. You will also assist with ongoing requests to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained and distributed to all locations to support build and repair activities. Working with the Logistics Manager, they create plans to optimize the flow and delivery of parts through their lifecycle; tracking inventory locations and movement. They work closely with Datacenter Operations Technicians to fulfill parts and equipment deliveries quickly and accurately. They will also work with Procurement teams to ensure that inbound equipment orders are complete and delivered to appropriate Data Center Locations.
They are responsible for accurate data entry and resolving questions from peer organizations. Additionally, the Logistics Specialist will ensure that all information associated with the deliveries such as inventory tracking and Ticket updates are accurate to ensure equipment is ready for processing by end user.
The ideal Logistics Specialist will dive deep into and the inventory they distribute to better understand the tracking, control and accuracy surrounding the components. The Specialist will be involved in, if not responsible for or limited to, decision making involving route planning, vehicle maintenance, load planning, loading and unloading equipment daily equipment deliveries, ultimately helping us to deliver on our goals of high availability and low cost. They will also maintain up-to-date metrics dashboards and or excel spreadsheets and will create reports for internal and external customer and management as required.
Logistics Specialists are expected to understand all aspects of Transportation, shipping and receiving as well as inventory control, adhere to strict safety standards, maintain very high quality, and be willing and able to work on powered equipment (i.e forklift or cherry picker).
A Valid Driver's License is required.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US citizen and must currently possess an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and satisfy other security related requirements.
Key job responsibilities
- Drive long distances for up to 10 hours
- Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check-out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and Engineers
- Load and unload shipments and transport parts, racks, and equipment between different locations, including localized driving of a variety of transportation vehicles
- Attend company provided fork lift operator training
- Complete company provided training in driving box trucks up to 26' in length
- Handle sensitive/classified client materials
- Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally work is in an office environment
- Work overtime as required
Perform the following tasks with with reasonable accommodations:
- Lift loads of up to 39 pounds and carry them for short distances
- Participate in group lifts of 40 pounds or more
- Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of logistics experience
- 1+ years of material forecasting experience
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of logistics experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
