Headquartered in Sugar Land, Texas, AOI is a vertically integrated company that designs and manufactures everything from semiconductor laser chips to finished optical transceivers, serving tier-one customers across cloud computing, broadband, and telecom. With R&D operations in Atlanta, GA and global manufacturing presence in Taiwan and China, AOI is publicly traded on the Nasdaq (AAOI) and is actively expanding its U.S.-based manufacturing operations in Sugar Land to meet accelerating demand in the AI datacenter market.

Summary

We are seeking a Order Management Analyst to manage the order-to-cash lifecycle for AOI's global supply chain. Coordinating across sales, production, inventory, and procurement this role is critical to our operations. The Order Management Analyst is expected to daily update SAP HANA to reconcile customer portal data, responds to internal and external requests on order status and fulfillment, and tracks exceptions across active accounts. Weekly responsibilities include operational reporting to leadership with biweekly presentations, and evening calls with manufacturing teams in Taiwan and China.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to problem-solve independently within a regulated and process driven environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities across internal teams and external customers are essential. Conversational Mandarin and flexibility to take both recurring scheduled and ad-hoc evening calls are required for success in this position.

Job Duties

• Maintain and update customer order database, customer master, part number master, and price master in SAP HANA on a daily basis

• Review and approve purchase orders in SAP; communicate revisions to the order entry team, manage allocations, and ensure order accuracy

• Monitor customer accounts for expedites, deferrals, ship-date changes, order trends, and backlog exceptions; coordinate with internal stakeholders to rebalance priorities as needed

• Manage correspondence between sales, production, inventory, logistics, and other AOI departments regarding order status, fulfillment risks, and next steps

• Coordinate with manufacturing teams in Taiwan and Ningbo, including participation in recurring cross-site meetings and occasional evening international calls to clarify orders or troubleshoot issues

• Pull, reconcile, and update information from customer portals to ensure alignment between portal data and SAP as a single source of truth

• Provide operational data, order tracking reports, and analysis to management and sales teams, including weekly reporting and Friday leadership presentations

• Support key customer accounts by responding to procurement requests, providing logistical updates, and maintaining positive customer relationships

• Assist with special projects including inventory setup, new build configurations, and facility build-out support

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and organizational objectives

• Prioritize workplace safety by identifying hazards and taking immediate corrective action when unsafe conditions are observed

Qualifications

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field is highly preferred. An equivalent combination of education, certifications, and hands-on experience will be considered (four years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree).

Work Experience: 2-4 years of experience in order management, supply chain operations, customer operations, or a related operational function. Candidates must demonstrate working understanding of order-to-cash concepts (forecast, open order, shipment, billing). Candidates without a degree must demonstrate at least six years of combined relevant experience.

Required:

  • Conversational proficiency in Mandarin Chinese required (listening and speaking; reading and writing not required)
  • Professional fluency in English required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data formatting; working knowledge of Word and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective verbal and written communicator who can interface directly with external customer procurement teams
  • Self-directed problem solver who can work independently while remaining process-compliant
  • Ability to work onsite 5 days/week in Sugar Land, TX with occasional evening availability for international calls

Preferred:

  • Experience with SAP, SAP HANA, or comparable ERP system
  • Exposure to supply chain or order management reporting and analytics
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production-adjacent environment
  • Customer service or account management experience
